Thais Cantu is a (Mission, ​Texas)25 year old RGV local ​artist, that specializes in art ​created through digital collage ​and acrylic paint. She has a ​dream of making fun art that ​expresses colorful moments of ​fantasy or aesthetics, and ​sharing it with all the people ​around her.

Projects

Irrigation Pipe Art ​Projects

Thais has worked with the city of ​Mcallen , on several of their Keep ​Mcallen Beautiful projects. She has ​been assigned 4 irrigation pipes so ​far called "Mcallen Sunset”, “Patio ​de mi casa”, “Tree of Life”,and ​“Gallo Fino”. The process from ​these pipes has been from, ​November,2022 to May,2024.

Illustrator

Thais works as a freelance ​Illustrator for the company ​Trucha, that resides in McAllen ​Texas. Has currently created ​two Digital Collage images for ​their article on immigration in ​2024.

The Fat zine

Thais worked on a Zine project from ​London called "The Fat zine" on February ​2022. It's a Zine dedicated to plus size ​people who share theirs stories and art ​with the world and its plus size people. ​She submitted three digital collages from ​which two were selected to make it for ​printing. The pices were titled "See my ​truth" and "Open Heart".
